Although Chris Martin Studios Inc. is a recent start-up business, the founder of the studio (Chris Martin) has been designing professionally since 1996. He cut his teeth at Virtualrep Incorporated from 1996 to 2002 learning the intricacies of web design, developing and programming e-commerce websites for Dick Hannah Dealerships, Aviation Book Company and Centerforce Clutches, to name a few.

While attending the University of Washington in 1997, Chris began his career in graphic design, designing CD packaging for several of his friends’ bands. This not only got him interested in graphic design, but also in photography and its role in graphic design and web development, effectively leading him to pursue an education in Media Arts & Animation at The Art Institute of Portland.

Ranging from typography and digital layout to 2D/3D animation and video production, the wide variety of classes offered in the Media Arts & Animation program fueled Chris’s passion for pursuing a career in multiple design mediums. He was able to build upon skills learned on his own with real-world application and critique, as well as refine business practices through an internship in the video department at Crossroads Community Church, located in Vancouver, WA.

Upon graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree, Chris began working full-time in the video department at Crossroads. Building upon the established pursuit of graphic design, web development and photography, he was able to learn new skills in live video directing, documentary video production, project management, and people management.

Eventually the time came for Chris to pursue a dream that had been in his mind for some time and form Chris Martin Studios Inc. In November of 2005, he began that dream. A dream to combine all of his passions into one pursuit, one vision and one company.

This is the beginning.
